Helmet cam, any good?

Hmm, some videos on CRC show it to be a bit ropey at speed, fps too low for what I have mind, and no, it's not speed ironing Byrner!

you'd need the original video to gauge the quality, youtube/compression can do awful things to decent footage

There's loads of that brand of cam from shops on EBay for even less money. Most other budget cams seem to be 30 fps too.

looks similar to the origon scientific ones which were ****e. Ate batteries so you couldn't get more than a few mins recording from a set. Biggest waste of cash ever

absolutely, i got one of them and its utter muck, you need a camera that you can see where the feckin thing is pointing , i don't know anything bout resolutions or any of that stuff but having used a couple something light like a bullet cam attached to the helmet is your only man.
Though having said that the footage of that GO pro,even the non HD one looks deadly, they are expensive jobs ( good cameras ) but the cheap ones are too fragile and crappily made.
I will give you my Oregon Actioncam ,Don if you want it. FOC..

Cheers for that Byrnsie, I really just want to capture a few gnarly trails to show the family some of the places we go, I would happily borrow that yoke. Is it a USB connection to the Mac?

How do you get the files to your PC? Via a flexible cord shaped object?

Don, I have a VholdR, you can borrow it.
It is good. 90mins battery, and connects via flexible rope thingie, or you can take out a plastic stamp shaped thingie, and plug it into a box thingie with a rope coming out of it that connects to the computer thingie.
