Wanted - a piece of land

Hello, i would like to create a BMX track .Its to introduce kids to Racing and for some BMXing.
Somebody must know somebody with a field they are not using in South Dublin /NorthWicklow that is self contained .
Football field size.
I have been thinking about it and I just thought..throw it out there.In the meantime I will knock on other doors.
Theres lads who are selling wheels that cost more than my Van, lads with Bikes made from Gold etc.
Earn my respect and undying gratitude and a possible statue.
Find me a field.

I know Rob Davis has a field at the back of his house and said he was going to get Sean to look at it for a 4x track. 4x is just as good as BMX but it goes downhil, like all good things. Get in touch with Rob anyway if your interested, I'm sure he'd like to have a field at the back of his house.

Ohh and by the way, this field happens to be touching 3rock and his family own some of the forest above it too...

richie, get in touch with Brian McGarry you can find him on the twentyinch ireland facebook thing. he has been working on a bmx track for the last while. last time i spoke to him things sounded very promising. there is also lads trying to orgainse a bmx race track for rathoat, i dont know much about that though

I was talking to one of them 20inch Ireland dudes aswell and they're mad to get the racing going again, would be savage if it got going again. Alot of people would definately take it up. Better than the kids hangin around in gay skate parks and "down the trails"....aye stevo?!

The BMXers are now part of the Offroad Comission and are working on Jamestown Park with DLRCOCO, Corkagh Park with SDCOCO, Rathoat with Meath COCO, but progress is slow, hence the request for "a piece of land". The more tracks we can build the more riders we can attract.
We need a plot about Max .100m X 100m, about 3-5,000 cubic meters of dirt, 80 tonnes of dolomite (limestone dust), about 2000 person hours, a JCB and a lot of goodwill.
There was a time when we had about ten tracks within easy reach of Dublin and regularly 500+ (once 2000) kids at a race, we had a European Champion aged 8 SHE also placed 3rd in the Worlds. Your kids could be this good too!
There is no better way to get kids riding bikes. Have a look at some of the footage on Twenty Inch Ireland (Facebook) but be careful BMX is addictive, it will make you want to build a track and buy a BMX bike and race, it will turn you into a far better mountain biker, just look at Mickey!

I was talking to a lad in clondalkin who has them all. started collecting a few years back from bookie winnings.

There's a guy in Kildare who collects them too, and old Griffters etc, he also has an old Skyway TA BMX, now they were the dogs.

was looking at bmx's today online, there is a shop in Greystones (theboardroom) they stock some nice stuff. I had an Aero Pro Burner back in the 80's , it cost over £400 at the time, which was a whole lot of cash back then. used to live on that thing 24/7
