I think he means he is looking to pursue the activity of bicycling around a woody or mountainous area. Commonly known as mountain cycling that or dogging. Not sure!!

It might seem you are being ignored but the fact is that the only place we can legally ride is in Ballinastoe co wicklow, the other trails are unfortunately terrorist trails..
Nearly everything is club based and done through secret societies, i'm afraid..
Whats your experience ? if you are a serious XC racer then we have just started the XC racing season, same with DH then we can accomadate you..MAD www.madmtb.com are presently running a beginner series...which is probably a good way to get to know the Irish scene.
We are not running any beginner or " would you like to Join EPIC spins" at the moment because we have more members than we can cope with. These kind of spins generally happen outside of racing season..
or www.imbrc.com they are based in Tallaght..most of the CLubs snap up new members from seeing them at races !! We are working with Coillte on a solution to our access problems so for the moment we are not encouraged to put trails up on the Internet forums..We're getting there but slowly..
Unfortuantely we aren't able to accomadate new people as we don't are getting 30 to 40 people on spins !! sorry..

I'm not a beginner, I've been doing XC for about 3-4 years now. I have also done a couple of races (in Australia), but I'm far from what you would call a serious racer.
I have already seen the MAD Website, so I guess I'll need to give them a go.
I'm surprised that you guys don't have much going in the area - with such gorgeous looking country to the South of the City I just assumed there would be loads of good single track - bummer!
on the contrary we run about 7 spins a week..and there is tons of deadly singletrack but we are obliged not to advertise it !
The same goes for the other Clubs..you have to join a club or go on an open spin..we are not running any open spins at them moment due to being so busy! But MAD are and I think IMBRC are..however if you are really keen.
Gary ( GAZPW) is the man to PM if you want to go for a spin, he will give you details..he runs our Craic spins which are best described as the doorway to the other spins, they are not for beginners but for people who just like to ride their bikes, have a bit of a laugh and not take it too seriously ..I'd recommend talking to him,
