suspension leaking oil - advice

hey - I'm just looking for advice - my suspension is leaking oil its coming out the top - im wondering if this is easy to fix and if there is anyone who specializes in fixing suspension.

When I had my bike in a bike shop a couple of months ago they said that it looked like the suspension didnt look like it had long left in it becuase the gold finish of the shaft was worn down & you can see the silver finish. This meant that the seal is well worn & thats where the oil is now coming out. They said that if that happens its time to buy new suspension.

I dont know anything about suspension but I would have thought that it would be just a matter of replacing the oil & fitting a new seal and the suspension would be ok?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I think once the finish wears off the stanchions the only option is to replace them! Depending on what forks you have it may or may not be worth doing this - it may make more sense to buy new forks! James in OC Tuning is your man!!

might only be fork seals/bushings ,once they wear down they crack and let the oil get by. if there are scraches on your forks/stantions this will also let the oil pass the seals so it's one of the two above. check out YouTube for service videos - they have videos for rocx shox etc... ( check out crc for service kits )

Your forks are screwed... full stop..!

You can change the oil and the seals if you want.. but the first wet spin you do I guarantee water will get in and you'll be back to square one..

You need a new CSU (crown steerer unit) for them..

James only does fox though I think, He will not touch marzocchi anyway, Im not sure about rock shox
