Now to go out on limb and give some forum fodder...
That is a ridiculous extension of a brilliant sport. I am all for sponsorship and big events but this is a step too far where the spectacle is put before the rider. Jumping off a wet wooden jump onto wet cobbles is just not very smart. If you want to watch talented riders bin themselves for sport come on an EPIC spin. These guys deserve more respect than that.

I agree Luke, if it was a fun event at the end of season, then so be it, but that just looked crap.
The rain did ruin things and took away some of the racing elements and made it more about survival. When it's dry it's more about the racing and not so much of a freak show. Think it's the first time it's been ran in the wet and there was talk of it being cancelled for safety reasons. In the end they postponed the start hoping it would dry up a bit.
Jaysus, if lads like that are crashing all over the place it must've been rough.
