Hey all
Ladies spin is in Kindlestown / Glen of the Downs this week. We will be leaving the car park at 7pm sharp so if you could get there at 6:45pm to get yourselves ready.
Kindlestown is just off the N11. Some directions:
* Take the M11/N11 south to Kilmacanogue (Esso Station is on your left)
* Two miles or so after Kilmacanogue you'll pass the "Eco Shop" on your left
* Take the next exit signposted "Glenview Hotel"
* Take the next right turn signposted Glen of the Downs Golf Club (do not cross the flyover bridge)
* You'll pass the Glen of the Downs golf club on your left, then take a right at the end of the road
* The entrance to Kindlestown car park is on your left.

i'm sure some of you have noticed the drop in temperature over the last few days and GOD is pretty sheltered and it'll be pretty cool in there, so dress appropriately.
plan your layers and bring a camel pack for storing unwanted or extra layers
i know you're all just starting out but investing in a decent long sleeve base layer is really worth it
And by the way well done to Wendy on Sunday at the NPS she was brilliant out there. she came 6th out of 11 sports ladies coming in at 1:01:44 the winner was in at 58:09 so that was a really great time for her first race!!
yeah great result for Wendy on Sunday..she nearly had the 3rd spot at one stage..
At the moment we only have 2 EPIC ladies racing in the XC races, Carol in Sports and Shona in Experts..this is a serious imbalance that needs to be addressed. Even come along and support them, Great rewards are there for XC racing ladies, the craic in the EPIC Camp is brilliant and we treat them like Goddesses..well kind of !!
There are men in the Club who are weak and feeble compared to Shona ! We can help with Coaching as well for ladies interested in racing.

Ladies.... I have been asked to accompany 2 ladies on the Wicklow 100. I did it in a group with one of them last year, and she asked me to do it with her this year. I think I am just a mechanic, and pace setter, but hay, could be worse...
Anyways, it is just a ladies spin, and any of you are welcome to join us. The other two are middle aged triathletes, probably slower than Shona and Silvya, but not much.
Expect a pace of about 5 hrs for the 100k. I might even have a spare roadbike, if Shona or Sil want to borrow it.....
Thanks ladies, I'll be along for this one again. Eilish kind of had a bit of a crash and hurt her shoulder on the sat spin so she reckons she can't make it which is a shame.
I've ordered new tyres and Richie pumped up my forks so my bike shud ride a lot better-now just me who needs to impove!!
Spin on Wed sounds great, I will def try and make it. Thanks for all the encouragement on Sunday in Belfast guys. You made all the difference, especially on lap 2 where thought I was going to cough my lungs up! See you soon :)
well that was week 4 of the ladies spins and it was great to see such a good turn out yet again! 10 ladies out tonight,
We did a quick loop of kindlestown, which eveyone seemed to enjoy then over to GOD, down the flowy track to the tunnel which some amazing soul has laid a bridge out of, so no more horrible mud hole at the end.
we ducked back up onto the climb from here (they're only new wasn't going to make them do the full climb twice, not yet anyway!!) then down the fast track to the road, everyone really enjoyed this which is great
back up the climb with a few mechanicals all of which were fixed and the princess even got down and dirty and helped out with a tube change!!!!
so another deadly spin, everyone is coming along at a great pace, up and down stuff.
Sylvia was on camera duty tonight so there'll not doubt be a few pictures later
well done to everyone out tonight, it's great to see you all coming out again and again it means we're not doing this for nothing ;-)
Great spin yet again, thanks Epic ladies and thanks to the GOD Tunnel Fairy-no more wet a$$ going through that tunnel woohoo :) Good to be back in K-Town too I've definitely improved since I was last there!

I'm trying to head out at least 1 other night a week for practice and 1 weekend day too so if anyone is ever interested in meeting up and heading out for a spin let me know.
