when the EPIC club Course is the benchmark of greatness ?
haha, funny.....it was only 1 lap. I think individual laps should be banned, not good for racing. Ryan told me at the start to go ahead cause he didnt want traffic for his fast lap....Huh? Ban the laps, it should be about the total time!
Anyway, I did a 10:45 a couple of years ago and Bob did a 10:30. Bob could easily do a 9:45, and EPIC should pay Nino â¬5000 to come over and do an 8:17, I'd pay to see that.
defo, maybe take lap 1 time from when we start lap 1 proper, instead of the long 1st lap....real easy to do, would be 4 laps with the 1st lap being the ride from ther gate to the finish....oh, no there is a challenge
haha, I said I was going slow as it was the first time off-road in a few weeks (and my legs felt like s***).
It really is luck of the draw sorta stuff to get a quick lap when there is traffic - not much you can do if you get stuck behind a train of 10 riders on the second singletrack section other than ride along.
(Not that it matters - 10:09 moving time for my second lap last night - must remember to check everything on my bike before I go racing!)
Epic MTB is the biggest MTB Club in the universe, why don't you have chip timing at your club races:-) There's got to be a cheap way of doing it using RFID chips so we can work out the full race times and laps accurately. I'll look into it and get back to you.
I agree with Ryan lap times can be a lottery, it would be a crap race if there was no one to pass or catch though. Worth the sacrifice I would say.
