Thank you to all the helper

Well this weekend our round of the DH NPS went off fantastically. Well where do I start, I just have to say a big thanks to everyone that helped out this weekend, I know being the organiser this might be a bit biased but I have to say we couldn’t have put on much better of an event then we just did and that’s down to you guys that helped out. From a marshalling point of view you guys are legends, the amount of comments I got from other race organisers that you guys were the best they had see, and I know marshalling isn’t a glamorous job, between boredom, abuse from people, midges and many other things but the simple fact is without you we couldn’t have run such a good event, so well done, I’ll be out with the other downhillers repaying the favour for the nationals. Also while I’m on about marshals I have to say a big thanks to Bren for looking after you guys, there was no way I could have done it with everything else going on so he took a big bit of stress off of me. Next were the up lift drivers Alan, Dennis, Killian, Bruce and my brother they hacked on all weekend and gave everyone a ton of runs so well done to them. Next was Paul Carmody he was a great help with the PA/DJ’ing side of things and the feeding of all the helpers. Next was Shane and all is bit from his company Event Serv, the whole finish area looked the business because of him so thanks for that. Next is Al for getting our prizes from the Bike Rack and Hot Lines, it was a great touch and made all the difference, then there was Ronan for sorting out flowers from flowers123.ie and thanks to Tony Marshal for the lovely ice creams. And of course all the people that stayed around and helped take down tape, tents and pick up rubbish all of which goes on for hours after the last riders leave. I’m sure I’m missing someone there so please don’t be offended if I did. So thanks again everyone

Your some fecker Tynan, after being your bitch for the last month I don’t even get a mention.

But serious, well done lads, it was a great event but it was all down to the hard work of loads of good people. All the diggers who spent months shovelling, all the marshals who got eaten alive, uplift drivers, other miscellaneous helpers who just kept everything going like clockwork. Adam’s entire family, I am pretty sure they were all there doing something. All the people who helped sort stuff out for us, lent us stuff, robbed stuff for us etc. Alan A for not only driving uplifts all weekend, but for being extremely sensible all the time. Al for helping to sort a load of stuff. Shane from Snap for our signage and numbers. Bren for playing a blinder with the marshals, Steward and Killian for the trailer action, Tony for the Ice Creams, Ronan for the flowers, Roo for the coolest hot seat ever, and Sham getting loads of stuff and making the whole thing look just that bit more professional.

Well, i'd like to thank people as well but especially the two lads Sean and Adam..without the unbelievable effort that these two young people put in to this, the show wouldn't have been anything like it was..
its brilliant to have a whole new venue with a deadly track only an hour from Dublin and when Sean gets his raise from Fine Gael for being their new leader , he'll build a new road into the place, create employment by filling in the craters and the recession will be over !

The most unlikely part of the that would be me joining Fine Gael, how incompetent would you have to be to make a hames of being in oppositions through the biggest financial crisis in history, if they where any use they would already have taken over and not be involved in comical infighting. " now you must know how Stalin felt with his lines of T34 tanks and missile launchers..this is a real show of power to the smaller clubs like Flow and 021..but instead of Tanks and lads with big hats you have rows of tents and Alan Ayling driving a transit!!

On topic for a brief moment, it was a lot of hard work over a lot of hard months but that weekend was a real joy to be a part of, a great team of people working hard and selflessly, really good humoured throughout (radio banter was priceless), great leadership from the two boys. Remarkably stress free considering the effort involved.

Sorry Sean but the last time I gave you thanks on this site you threw it back in my face so I cut you.......Only joking but seriously this event has been in the making since before last October or more and there has been a lot of hands involved from builders, helpers, marshals, drivers, riders, contributors and many more and even Sean, that has made this event work so well. It's was a good weekend because of everyone that helped out.

that rig of Dennis' is absolutely brilliant..can we get him for The Blast Please !! or can we make one ourselves ?Very frickin handy for a few ideas I have !!

I'd second Dennis truck for the blast it's class, and even comes with it's own sound system.

That was my first time in Dennis' truck, it's a great set-up and the tunes are a brilliant, it was quite surreal being driven up the Glen with the music blaring, reminded me of my first tour in 'Nam.

Does anyone know the name of song he was playing with the Dublin accent about heroin?

If it's the same one he's been playing at other events it's by Damien Dempsey and is called "Serious". From the album "To Hell or Barbados".
