EPIC XC Nationals Saturday 17th July 2010 - Marshals Needed

Hello,

We may need a few bodies to marshal the course on Saturday.

It is not clear yet at what times we will need the marshals.

So if you can help PM me with the following;

1) Confirm that you mean Saturday
2) Your full name
3) Your mobile Number
4) Your Cycling Ireland Number

There will also be other jobs that need doing so no-one will go idle.

If all the Saturday marshalls could meet me at 12:00 at the race office, portacabin that'd be great.

I'll be ringing you all over the next day or so to confirm everything anyway.

In the meantime here is are some things you should bring on the day.

A fully charged, in credit, mobile phone.
Insect repellant
Sun block
An umbrella, good for the sun and rain
Something to sit on
Something to read
Something to listen to
Some food and water
If you know first aid bring your kit
Your bike, handy for getting around

Hello..Marshalls cannot be giving mechanical assistance to riders ! that could result in a disqualification.
Thats what the technical zones are for..team members can give each other assistance !!

What are you doing home at this time, all spick and span up there then?

**** off !! indeed it is..I had a bored ten year old wanting her dinner !! I think I've done enough , especially when theres flutes going on spins who haven't even lifted a shovel to help !
That Rocky Mountain Gear is going to look real good on me for 2011 !!

Technical assistance
4.2.043 Technical assistance during a race is permitted subject to the conditions below.
4.2.044 Authorised technical assistance during a race consists of repairs to or the replacement of any part of
the bicycle other than the frame. Bike changes are not permitted and the rider must cross the finishing
line with the same handlebar number plate that he had at the start.
4.2.045 Technical assistance shall only be given in the feed/technical assistance zones.
4.2.046 Spare equipment and tools for repairs must be kept in these zones. Repairs and equipment changes
can be carried out by the rider himself or with the help of a team-mate, team mechanic or neutral
technical assistance. Small items such as an inner tube or a small tool may be handed up from the
feed/technical assistance zones.

What does this rule mean??I think there must be words missing from the text.

i'd say whats missing there is that you can only get assistance from another competing team mate..
Oscar gave a wheel to John Mason at last years Nationals and I disqualified him .

Again, huge thanks to everyone who marshalled the course on Saturday.

Particularly as it would not have been exciting session.

Having marshals out for the pre-ride left a very good impression with walkers and riders alike. Leaving the club in good standing.
