blips are no harm, 3Rock last night was evidence of that - there were lads all over the place on bikes, laughing and whoopin' and hollerin' and bating around and soaking up the rain, it was a real novelty 'the rain'
one crazy chappie was merrily ripping around on a rim-braked bike in tracksuit bottoms with no saddle or seatpost and was going up for more when we left him and his posse of schlomp-seekers
there was a gang of us MADsers out and we ran into a pair of soggy bottom boys on our way - the bath-sized puddles on the NPS course were legendary, Rob Davis nearly drowned a few times in front of me, I upended myself while foolishly trying to get a lead on 'the Greg' and have some very impressive bear-claw scrapes on my leg
the slidder and greasy roots and darkness were a great upskiller and reminder of what a lot of us forgot about,
the spin down the road afterwards gave the bikes a nice wash
sunny weather?

Have to agree with Fergal, the rain definately won't scare people away...savage spin last night in 3rock with people on bikes everywhere! Ohh and Fergal...that crash was pretty impressive... I rode around you and looked back and just saw more bikes flying through the air... a beautiful sight so it was!
in MAD, we call the flying bikes and bodies lark 'the goober ballet' - we never know when we'll get the urge to dance and flail our limbs like that, but steep loose sliddery slopes in the rain are usually a safe bet for it - bring your popcorn next time!
I agree with you Greg as far as riders go, but this is shaping up to be the event of the year for spectators as well. It would just make for a more enjoyable and memorable day for everyone if the sun shone on us.....and i won't have to listen to my missus giving out about standing in a field getting pissed on if it does. Roll on sunday!!!

the track was riding great last night in all that rain. Unbelievable work done up there. Its a credit to the commander n chief and his work hounds.... I do feel guilty having not done as much in the preperation as others.....fookin paving slabs in all. they weren't dig up.... I'd say Bryan brought them up on his back in one go!
Don't feel guilty..you've done loads before..and the paving slabs are out of my garden !! Say nothing, she may not notice !!
