With the Downhill NPS wrapped up for another year I just want to make a bit of a bigger deal about all the great results the Epic downhill racers got this year. I know from previous years that to be up near the top in any of the categories takes a lot of hard work and commitment so you all should have a big parade or something to celebrate. Anyway here is a quick review of the top Epic overall results from this years downhill NPS.
Young Sean Green got 7th in the under 14âs, he got some great results and is a great hopefully for coming seasons,
Scott Marshall, was represented Epic at all the rounds this year and managed 11th overall in the under 16âs
Ross Miller got 16th in the under 16âs with just 3 round done which was very good.
Karl Thomas got 6th in super vets with 3 races and 3 podiums, defo think heâs a contender for the top spot for next year.
And for course Silvia took the win in womenâs category which was is a fantastic result and a well earned one.
Orla got 4th in the ladies and new comer Miriam managed 6th with her first 2 races every, so hopefully we see her at more next year.
Ken Murphy got 10th in sports and was so close to a podium in the Glen this year, Iâm sure weâll see him up there next year.
Al did a great job this year and finally after 10 years of trying got the overall win in the seniors, just in time for the move up to masters, well done.
Sean had a great battle in the Masters category and just got piped in the last round to still finish with a fantastic result of 2nd overall in the Masters.
Bruce managed 7th in masters but will be more remembered for his crazy talk in the epic pits, some very funny ideas coming from him.
Mark got 9th with just 3 results in the masters.
The always present Alan Ayling finished in 15th in masters.
Gary Williams, doing nearly all his season for Epic finished 3rd in Vets.
Gav OâConnell finished his second season in juniors in 5th
And after not being able to race half the rounds I finished 16th in Elites with Cummins in 17th.
So well done to everyone there but also to anyone else that just came out and represented Epic this year. Next year will be even bigger and better, with better pits, more racing and for course more craic. When everything else is finished up this year weâll be organising the club champs and some other bits to calibrate.
