I know lots of you serious MTBers out there are fart too good to have considered heading along to race #03 of the Kippure Challenge at the weekend but your missing out fun event thats suitable for those who have just started out to those that have more than a few runs under the saddle.

The last event in the series is on at the end of August and would be great to see a big turn out.
Possibly the most impressive rider of the day was one of Epic's own a junior who blitz most of the senior men and even have time to stop to fix a broken chain mid lap.
I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic there Adrian..but some of us have supported these Development races right from the beginning..in fact a certain somebody came up with the whole Development race idea in the first place.
To suggest that we would be too good to go these event pisses me off. We stay away deliberatly to avoid intimidating newcomers.
These events are for beginners..not for bangers to come along to roast them..
Would you like to see people like Max and Adamski out there crucifying newcomers, i know I wouldn't..
and nobody in EPIC thinks they are too good to support other Clubs efforts..go and post that elsewhere if you want but that attitude is not welcome here,

Yeah I went to the first two, there was loads of Epic members at the first one, and I did see a couple of members at the second one, the last one was too close to the Nationals for me to be heading out there the following weekend, I also thought that was the last in the series so I might make the August race, I'd recommend this race to anybody starting out, the track however isn't really challenging enough for experienced riders, they'll just leave beginners like me in the dust so you should be happy enough that people like Max aren't going to all of these and taking home all the medals at every race....they're beginners races....for beginners....so it does rule out a lot of members.
On a somewhat different note, I have been to world champs in freestyle kayaking an loads of rugby events over the years but the show you guys put on at the Nationals was right up their. Fair play to all the work ye put in.
There was a bite of a recci done last night to expanding and adding to the course for the finial event.
Its not been discussed but I'd love to see a one off "expert" class for the finial event, sure who knows.
there was more epic riders (bangers and all) at the first race than Imbrc riders. two of them even suplied the fun by creaming themselves at the start, too much expense....
The next one is on the 22nd of August which will be the last in the series. If you were to travel the night before there are lodge rooms and houses available in Kippure Estate its self or there are a bunch of hostels with in 20mins drive of the place.
It's no closer to Galway than Dublin, worth a trip out if you don't mind traveling as there isn't a whole lot of beginners races on from what I can see, there's a choice of two races for adults, a three lap race, or a five lap race, I did the three lap one the first time, and the five lap one the second time (I knew I wasn't going to win either one but figured I may as well get more laps for the money so I went for five), it's a good fun track, and it's not that easy if you're a beginner, or unfit....it's well enough organized and will give you a great taste for racing.
Completed race on Sunday, i'm a complete beginner, not like some in the beginner race!! It was a great introduction to racing and i'm now hooked can't wait for the next round. Really well run, only complaint would be as a newbie it cost €30 to race for about half an hour!!

DJ adrian was only trying drum up a crowd so that he has more people to listen to his Now 76 disc 2 at the next race....

robmca - Unfortunately, €20 of that €30, goes to Cycling Ireland for the day licence.
All the underage events are free to enter so that means the entire race is financed off the 10 euro entry fee from the senior races and believe me it not cheap to run a race.
There are other options though. You can get an annual licence from Cycling Ireland for about €85
