Forget about 10sp Mario... stick with the 9sp for now... it will be a very very long time before 9sp is eventually phased out.. if ever..!
If your building a new bike from scratch I'd definitely consider 10sp... but first I'd like to see how 10sp blocks cope with Irish conditions before making the change over..
the shimano system seems to still be a 3 x 10, and the Sram a 2 x 10 saving weight, as gerry says the tolerences for when things get muddy off road could be less and may not be worth the pain...
And sure who needs a 28tx36t anyways? No double chainset for SLX, only XTR which would be for XC racing only anyways...
that money would be better spent on a holiday or some coaching..you can have the blingest bike on the mountain but if you can't ride it good, then you're a muppet !!
2x10, 29'er , HD as MTK would say, a marketing mans wet dream !!
Joe MCall is a savage rider, having 2x10 didn't make him that way !!
will I get deadly after some couching? Or will I still a muppet?
Mario, Byrner is like a ginger yoda, he could coach you on just about anything
from gap jumps to skip sex, just make sure you sign up for the right course.
