Ok, what should be looking for? My 5 year old currently has some pink yoke that weighs more than our solar system and is not much use peddling uphill. Time to get something that would make her first venture off road manageable. Something with an alu frame and gears would be nice.
Any idea, where, what and how much? Maybe I'm cheap but sub â¬200 would be nice.
Anyone else thinking of ordering from these guys? They do ship to here. The bikes look perfect, light and purposeful. A few orders and we could negotiate a discount.

the isla has no FS.

Thanks Stewart, I saw that alright but was put off by the fork, not sure if we need the extra weight or (relative) complexity. I am sure fully rigid would do the job.
will you just listen to the fcukin experts Don..get her either the Specialized or have a look at The Trek Sophie has..which I got from the Bike Rack.
Stop thinking like an adult..the weight means nothing to the kids !!!or the suspension..once it goes and stops is all that matters to them ..

the spec & Trek are alu, so it's light. it has quality parts, so it's reliable. It has sus forks, to save her little hands from "vibration white finger"
and most importantly, it has a deadly chain device, that keeps the chain on....

How much are Specialized paying you? Whatever it is they should be channelling it into R&D from what I hear. The Isla (or whatever its called) is comparable to the Trek/Spec, gets glowing reviews and is cheaper. I'm not advocating a Halfrauds junker here. Maybe I will get the Specialized which is obviously also a good bike, or maybe she will pull up on the Isla, and all the other kids will say "Daddy, why does my bike look like everybody else's?"

I PAY THEM..... thats right, loads of my hard earned dosh goes to those yanks. the reason I am pushing them is so I don't look so stupid.
honestly though, have a look at lewis's hotrock. see if it fits/suits. they have a good standover height, which helps when they are small.
don, my 2 year old nephew got the beginners isla bike, the one with no pedals, chain or brakes so he just kinda runs along on it and then lifts the feet and flys along, he's already mastered the patio steps at the parents gaff and pretty much aims it for every dangerous slope he can find.
Its a great little yoke, really well built and good parts on it, not that theres many parts mind you, but i imagine their other bikes would be just as good
