MARSHALLS for Sunday

Hello guys,

most of you should have gotten an email or pm but as it goes in the days of Spamfilters I'll put up a list here a swell.

THANKS to all the people who offered to marshall, we certainly have more than plenty now, so not everyone will actually have to help this Sunday. Cheers anyway!

We'll meet around 10am in the finish area. Official marshalling will start from 11am onwards. Hopefully be done between 3.30 - 4pm

You'll get all you need on the day: walkie talkies, maps, high vis vest, food etc.
As I don't know some of you, please come up & say hello, it ain't easy to spot yiz in the sea of men... but sure you'll spot the cailín

Please make sure that you BRING YOUR MOBILE that day as well, just in case there is a problem with the walkie-talkies.

Well done all the volunteers, don't forget your Skin so Soft/Suncream.

Do we need bikes to get to and from wherever we're posted or are we better off walking.

Hey guys,
a couple of you asked me that already.

You won't really need a bike for marshalling, you can bring it to cycle up if you wish though.
Ideally, if you walk back down after the race, it would be great if you could gather the tape & some of the rubbish. It is important to leave Ballinastoe spotless so we can secure the venue for future events.

But basically, it's up to you whether you'd like your bike to keep you company or not

Guys I didn't get to see youa ll again at the bottom, so just wanted to say a BIG HUGE THANK YOU for standing around in the wild all day!!! Yiz were great for sticking around all day especillycos it was such a miserable one!!! A lot of people would have stayed in bed! Fair play to yiz!

No worries, glad to have helped out, but yeah it was miserable up there in the cloud....thanks for the lunch bag, I left my flags and vest beside the VW trailer as everything was still going on, had to get my car out of that field before it got too slippy.

just brilliant and at short notice and to all the Marshalls, thank you too.
Its the s hittest, worstest job in the world but we can't run events without them. Its also uncool, unappreciated and dull.
You have my respect, we had to call on other clubs to give a digout and I am extremely grateful to you guys.
But fair play to Nat, its not really that long ago that she was only new to mountainiking and 3in the European Masters as well.
Apologies Nat..you were supposed to get flowers but I forgot..to my shame

I particularly liked the activities printed on the back of the map; they kept me entertained between the races.

Roll on the 2011 Blast, I heard a rumour that every second year is dusty & dry

Fair play to all the marsahalls who helped out at the Blast, it was a fairly grim day to be standing out, but without your help the event couldn't have happened, great job. It was such a good day, I really loved every minute of it, so just want to say thanks, nice one!
