I jumped the 2nd bottle neck, but as a sister from the holy order of durty nuns I'm above the law (just like the pope), anyway I think everyone passed me again a few mins later while I was fixing my dress :eek:
There was a huge q at the second bottleneck. Just as I managed to get up to the top of the kicker the flood happens and about 60 riders all bypass it. I actually had to hold up at the top of the drop for fear of smashing into them all.
Sorry, can someone explain to me where that is? I assume the first bottleneck is the entrance to the forest. Then ye go down the mud or the 'river', then to the right along a high or low track, and out. Is that where you are talking about?
If people are talking about the bus stop near the top of the mattock expressway then it was inevitable that it would be bypassed. It was a nice feature for the heats but made no sense with 200 riders bearing down on it. People had been freezing their asses of for over an hour and survived the mayhem and congestion of the forest entrance, and things then ground to halt once more. I'd say I was 50th or so by the time a got there and it already looked like those nature films with the hoards of buffalo trying to exit the river, people were falling over and rolling backward. I got in line for a moment but when I saw everyone scooting around it I gave up on the concept of queuing. I don't see that as cheating, except maybe for the first bastich that did it!
But if there was deliberate cheating elsewhere then unleash hell.
