Shortcuts on Romper

It has come to my attention that there are some goober lines appearing at the entrance to my beloved Romper Schlomper up 3Rock.
(there are 2 shortcuts on the right)

Now myself and PaddyB from MAD spent most of last Saturday bench-cutting in the original line and doing some more deadly work on that trail, so if you see anyone cutting in right at the start will you ask them to cut that sh!t out and ride the trail as it was designed.

Also - with the new bench cutting - there's now a decent ledge where the shortcuts meet the trail and a real nasty sliddery root or two, so someone is surely going to flip themselves over the bars if they try to cut onto the trail using the shortcut and the thing is there's a 60 ft sheer drop right next to the trail, so there's the real danger of wrecking bike and body very badly.

I've marked off the shortcuts with branches but some eejit is bound to move them again so just be on the lookout and be careful, and if you could pull the branches back over if you see them moved that'd be great
I'll probably also dig some dirty big holes there in order to deter people

I also invented a new term, it's a Gullerm - which is a berm made out of a gulley, it's now a registered trademark, so anytime you use the phrase you owe me money, or SRAM XX bits...

one more thing, MAD bought me a savage new tool (actually they got me 4 of them), the EPIC diggers would love them too - called an Azada (or a Chillington Hoe) - for bench-cutting through soil and light roots it's a feckin savage yoke, the blade apparently will "cut a body in half" according to the nice fellah on the phone, and only €35 delivered to your door from www.dyg.ie

Fergal that's just amazing work! well done. I really, really used to hate that trail ('cause it's so bleedin' hard) but, now I really, really, really love it, cause it's so freaking good (that is; the original lines), it's hardness is what makes it so deadly-good.

You're right - no ones going to learn nothin' cutting out all the good bits! I even noticed these short-cut lines in parts in ballyhoura, cheating - ***ks.

We rode it the proper way on Tuesday and it is definitely the most fun way to do it. The suicide line is feckin' deadly now!!

Chillington hoe looks pretty good. Any idea where to get a McLeod?

Hi lads, I head up 3Rock whenever I'm up from Galway and always enjoy picking my way round the hillside. However, I don't know what anything is called. Whereabouts is this Romper schlomper of which ye speak (one photo of a tree looks pretty much like another I'm afraid)? Looks like some good work has been done there. Not looking for a map or any family secrets but a rough pointer would be great. Cheers.

Was up there this afternoon Fergal. Great work done with the digging, but i didn't see any branches blocking off the short cuts. They seem to have been moved already. There are alot of "alternative" routes. I just follow the one shown to me by enduro. Romper is my favourite trail up there, the heart rate always goes up a notch on the high part. If you can swing a hoe you musn't be far off back ridin' ( the bike that is).

When you go in to romper, its the longest way around (dont take the immediate right turn at the entrance). There are two shortcuts before this. They were blocked when I rode it on sunday but the stuff may have been moved.
