Brilliant Idea

its pretty cool alright. we could flip a coin on sat night before and decide which winter league track where running in cloon
Rally Style.

Hello All,

Another idea for races maybe would be to have two tracks. Same start and finish but different tracks. Then have first stage on one track in the morning, and second stage on other track in afternoon.
Add up both stage times and quickest in each category wins.
I know it cud be quite hard to run but it would be fun and different. As long as you dont have to move the start or finish it might not be too bad. Places like moneyscalp cud easily accomodate it for example as there are three tracks there that can start and finish in same place. Just could be interesting, what ya think?

Alan.
sure sounds good,, Sean and myself have often thought of an Enduro Downhill..4 to 6 courses - 4 hours to comple each section..hard to organise but some craic, no uplifts needed..riders can take as long as they like to reach the DH bits..
someday, when I can no longer ride my bike !!
but i definitely think we have to look at uplift days some where, Sean has me convinced that the uplifts have improved since my downhilling days, I really hate pushing my bike..
We also have to look at mountains outside of Dublin and North Wicklow, places where the Local towns and Communities might be glad of the wealthy Downhill types spending their money in their pubs
When I was in New Zealand I met a few guys who were preping for an MTB race in the hills above Wellington (Makara Peak).

Basically, they had a ton of really nice singletrack - each competitor was given a map and they had to cover every piece of singletrack - some sections were one way only some not.

I know it's not really feasible here but just an idea that I thought was interesting.

"Wealthy Downhill types"????? Wealthy before you get involved in DH and poor once your hooked! Some of the ideas being floated are good though.
