Can anyone recommend some goodish SPD shoes that offer some decent winter protection, my feet are always the first to go. I know you can spend huge money on shoes but Iâd like to keep them around â¬100 if possible.
Winter shoe recommendations?
crc are doing the goretex shimano for 121 euro at the moment.
I dont want to drag up old arguments, but first buy a good pair of neoprene overshoes.....keeps your shoes very clean and almost 100% dry.
i'd go for the overshoes as well..especially as you are commuting Don..besides, overshoes force you not to walk and i'm bringing in a dab tax in the new budget !!
I have the shimano goretex boots and they seem pretty good.
I also think overshoes are well worth it as i have used a pair of the neoprene endura ones for the last couple of yrs and they help a lot,
if you silicone up the holes in the bottom of the shoe where the cleat is and add these you will be amazed how toasty your feet feel.

but then he never cycles any more, so what would he know anyway;-)

get yourself a decent set of boots like the specialized bg ones and a pair of sealskinz waterproof socks and you'll have dry toasty feet all winter. just remember to wear a light pair of socks under the sealskinz and pull your tights down over them so the water doesn't get in

Hey Terry, tell me you don't put those overshoes over your boots....silicone up the holes, I like it, I'm going to pump expanding foam into my shoes before each spin too!

Don, not over the boots as they are waterproof, but I have put them over shoes for a couple of yrs and you would be amazed at the warmth.
they do look weird, but at my age, who carez.
If you have the goretex boots ones you don't need sealskins as the boots are waterproof as they are.
