Well I can't say that was any real use..
Downhill is in great shape but Cross Country is not..mind you that was remarked to me before I even got to it.
Mainly due to the lack of youth and Junior riders and Elites.
All we have is a heap of over 30's , over 40's and soon over 50's. What kind of a sport is that..
Don't give me the " Theres a Youth Commission for bringing people in to Cycling "
We're mountainbiking, not just cycling.
I give up, rest assured though I will be doing something about it at a Club level..I have no faith that the Commission will develop and nurture XC racing.
There was a meeting for XC race organisers , which was a pointless exercise as the NPS was already decided and nobody was going to be listened to, especially those who know a thing or two.
As for the awards, well done to the winners, however I can't help feeling it was a case of typical Irish begrudgery, lets punish success, neither of the 2 biggest events got anything, I wouldn't be human if I wasn't pissed off with that, after the superhuman efforts EPIC went to, to run these.
However this is nothing new Team-Worc got the same treatment and now they just do their own thing, I never understood that but now I do. So from now on thats exactly what EPIC will be doing.
I have to say it was a sad fact that the AGM and awards continue to be ignored by all the top riders..I used to think they were being aloof, now I know better.
It took a long time but now i'm on the same side as Dave Gill..i'm not sure if thats a good thing.
