Howdy..i'm doing this race on my Lunchbreak..come on up and cheer me on, or better still have a go yourselves..Rory and Oz have CX bikes..borrow them and we'll have the craic.

you can't beat it as a quality race though...
I have a year to find a venue and run a CX race of my own next year !!
Holy jeebuis..after a brutal start, i finally caught my friend and archnemesis Justin..after passing him, i went and murdered myself off the ground !! I was so dazed I fell over again..
then i spent the rest of the time trying to gain on him and crashing over and over..
Great race though, the course was brilliant way better than last week.
I just couldn't ride the beast at speed around the corners..I was making up savage time on the short bits of tarmac..
Great race though..actually brilliant race !!
Well done to everybody who raced..I was way out of my league I have to say..next year though I will be unbeatable !!
I have to say it looks great, real close tight racing, very tough going though I'd say. I'd imagine the cornering is abit sketchy alright in that muck with skinny little tyres. Mmmmm, maybe next year!!!
Well done to all the Epic Riders today. Richie you need to do some Tuesday cross sessions so you're not ending up on the deck..!!! You had Justin in your sights and nearly had him again at the end. Good ride Justin too. And lets not forget Darragh who made it into the top 20.... it wasn't that long ago that top ten was tough but top 20 is just as tough now...
yeah..fierce racing. I'm going to do all rounds next year. I liked that course today because some bits were mental.
My main problem is the brakes are the wrong way around and I keep pulling the front one thinking its the back one and I may have too much air in the tyres..
I'm like a complete goober out there but when you get round a corner at speed in one piece its pretty damn satisfying. I've always liked CX but the temptation to wind you and Geoff and Robin up was too much to ignore !!
But i'm big enough to turn up and take the abuse I get , a big thanks to Richardl, Rory, Phil Tighe and all the non EPIC people who cheered me on..
Yeah, that was class alright - VERY slippy and relentless intensity from start to finish and regardless of where you are in the field you're always racing somebody.
Lucky for me old man Byrne was a bit wobbly today - revenge is sweet!
Thanks to all involved and to the EPIC supporters. It's a pity the season is so short.

one of the reasons I decided to have a go at the Cyclocross series this year, wasn't just to bury the hatchet or promote Focus CX Bikes but it was to see how a small group of passionate people have revived a sport they obviously love.
Without the help of Cycling Ireland or any Commission.
Saturday morning at 12.00am , limited to a reasonable size, no actual categories and for what it is a brilliant course.
In some ways a mountainbike course is easy to design, most of its already there. but a proper CX course to make it enjoyable, you really have to think about it.
One thing 1've figured out about it is,that you have to be fit to do it. You have to be a real racer, theres no hiding and theres no way of catching up if you are dropped except by sheer determination and will power.
I like that, i think it means you only get dedicated racers.
Its not boring and the courses now seem to suit the bikes.
Its not mountainbiking, there isn't anything to relate it to Mountainbiking except its muddy and dangerous if done right.
Daves right though, proper training sessions are what you need to get the best out if it.
I had one moment yesterday when I was trying to close the gap on Justin after i crossed the bridge and had him in my sights on the Tarmac, I was so intent on closing the gap that I over took 2 guys on the grass and got around the next 2 corners sideways in the big ring and forgot about the tenous grip or lack of it as I pedalled like a mad man across the whole off camber slide of death..
I'd forgotten what it felt like to really race until I gave this a go, its a highly specialized form of holding your breath for an hour and theres no hanging around and no eejits holding you up wearing baggies and camelbacks !!
And Robin is getting a real race not one of those where hes toying with the rest of us !!
He got a great race off Joe and Conor Cambell yesterday !
Great to see Conor Cambell doing so well, hes a brilliant rider and a genuine nice guy !!
The same kind of passion and cop on will need to be applied to XC if its to be saved !!
