its not an official thing !!!
Somebody put me in as Sports women..so I am racing Elites under my other name Robert Mugabe !
There's no expert ladies to choose from - only sports and elite

-sorry just noticed thats for the nationals....sorted
I don't like that Serie A bollocks..its a bit on the affected side !! it should be just Senior 1,2,3 and Sports !!!!
Simple..
Having 2 Ability Cats and Elites and vets and Sports now is just going to confuse things..
So Robin does a couple of races..he doesn't challenge the NPS anymore..
Nobody is elite anymore compared to whats in Europe. The mistake we keep making year in year out is developing from the top down. It should be
Sports -> Senior 3-> Senior 2-> Senior 1

We're constantly looking at who we can get to be Elites, even if they are not Elite.
Robin Seymour is not an Elite anymore, hes a very Savage master , about to be a very, very Savage vet !!
Joe is a very savage Master also..
Evan the same.
Oisin, Alfie,Adamski,Damo, James McCluskey too..
Doris, Aidan, Gerry McCabe are savage Vets..
**** them all..
Sort out the sports and boot them up the hole to be better and find a heap of juniors to train up..
Morgan, i respect you a lot as Chairman of the Offroad Commission, the last lad was brutal !!
But you keep putting the onus on the Clubs to develop juniors and even ladies.
Can we have some help please..some direction.
Stop hoping that the CLubs will do stuff..bribe us or something !
I've a pain in my bollocks with this whole nicey nicey lets all hold hands and participate tosh !!
lets build some streamlined racing machines instead !!
This all means nothing if it's not managed - is it really so difficult. We have d race results - the results are already "in the computer".

what is the big deal with managing this?
don't ask me red..i'm just the Agent Provocateur !!! I'm not racing anymore, I'm Coaching my troops and rallying anybody who wants it !!. Plus my magazine has not gone away !!
I'll be at all the NPS pointing at things and having the craic !
Yeah - but you are the one who knows who's who and aren't afraid to name and shame the bangers!

i;m not gonna worry about it anyhow, i'll be lucky if I have any fitness left at all after this feckin broken ankle .
you're right of course. But i'm not on the Commission and I have not been approached, my rates are astronomical and my conditions of service unholy !
Three quick comments.

I actually think the cats should be called:

Beginner -> Senior 3 -> Senior 2 -> Senior 1
(Beginner) -> (knows how to ride a bike) -> (knows how to race a bike) -> (fast lads)

Sport sounds too 'good'. Kick the folk that have been riding sport for the last 5 years out of it - they are not new to the sport and will find a place in S3.

Secondly, I have to disagree with the sport being sorted top down. Since I started riding (2006), there has been nothing in place in relation to HP development of riders in any direction - ziltch (I should know). I had a choice, kick butts and knock heads and try and get things in place to help me (and others) progress OR work your ass off yourself and expect nothing. I had to take the second option - working two full time jobs doesn't allow much 'knocking heads' time unfortunately.

A post that people may have missed about women in cycling: http://www.velonation.com/Blogs/Ben-...rtunities.aspx

It provoked a lot of discussion which is great.
ah well you see Ryan, i am biased, since i've been involved in the Sport a lot of the Emphasis was driven from the top down, i was part of that mindset.
But I see now theres no HP development in place alright, so i'll agree to disagree with you sort of
