Yea that corner is abit dodgy, I go out that way on the bike to Malahide and it always seems slippy, I take it very handy around it.

one night myself and Ross were coming back from a training spin out that way and were heading back past the point and Ross ploughed in to a fat bird going to see Westlife..he went down in a heap and I had to bunnyhop over him !!

I saw this middle aged woman in work today and realised I went out with her when I was 16 !!

Yea that corner is really bad. Even going around it in the car these days, I just crawl. The road surface is in bits with an accumulation of grit & busted blacktop.

If you have the energy - write or email to Dublin City Council (dublincity.ie), roads dept. Do include that photo of your drumstick; it might get them moving.

Yeah well I'm the other side of the Liffey now, home is the frozen wastes of Northern Tallifornia.

Howth is a rather unloved spot for mtb, but not that bad. Best at night when there aren't any walkers, just the occasional amorous couple (of whatever persuasion, I've disturbed plenty up there while nightbiking) and once what was probably a drug deal. Myself, Sean & Tim appeared over the hill and lit up a car with our lights, two lads in the front, one with an open briefcase, which he snatched out of sight double quick time. We fecked off in a bit of a hurry too.

Richard, were you trying to stay on the tarmac on that right hander, or going for the line onto the kerb/cycle track like a good little roadie? Staying on the road is brutally ungrippy.

had a similar wipe out on the road before Xmas, just a bit of ice on the bend.

By the way, are you shaving your legs??
