Well for those of you new to this sport, thats not even remotely true.
I find it hard to comprehend how people can make goober lines around the features in Ballinastoe and Ticknock but I can sort of imagine how that happens.
Its still a cop out and its still cheating.
You are only fooling yourselves.
Its always happening on the Leadmines. Which really pisses us off. It shows complete lack of respect for the trailbuilders and sheer ignorance.
Theres no ref to catch you doing it but its still cheating.
All trails that are handbuilt by a dedicated few take hours to make perfect and in all the years the sport is in existence you can only count on 2 hands who has built anything.
I noticed on Benchcut recently several completely naff lines, made by people avoiding a feature everybody else has made the effort to master.
You might think you're clever riding around difficult features but come on, you're defeating the purpose.
We just finished a big dig day in Carrickollogan fixing up the shortcuts people have made and repairing lines that were pulled down by inconsiderate users.
Speaking for other trail builders out there, we want people to enjoy them and rate them highly and we want to share them.
Just show some cop on when out riding a trail , very few of them are natural, most if not all of them that you are riding were built by passionate dedicated people who certainly don;t deserve to have their hard work **** on by ignorant people who think they happened on to the trails as if by magic.
Join a club and give something back to the people who have helped make Irish Mountainbiking as deadly as it is.
