Well I know it has been only one race but to my mind the new catagories worked really well yesterday! Certainly I had plenty of (slow) racing where I was and everybody else seemed to feel the same way? What I particularly liked was that everybody was racing for between 1 and 1/2 to 1 and 3/4 hours so there was a great buzz at the finish line.
Obviously there will need to be a bit of "shuffling" so that there are more equel numbers between the classes but I'm sure some people will do the "honourable" thing and those who don't will have to be pushed at the end of the year!!

Yeah, I think the new categories are the way to go. One suggestion I would have though is that if there was some way to distinguish riders from different categories. I never really knew yesterday who I was racing against unless I actually scrutinized their numbers or just knew what category they were in. It makes it doubly difficult when you start coming up on lapped riders.
My suggestion would be to colour code the back of the numbers also so that it should be relatively easy to spot from a distance what category the rider is in. Otherwise it seems to be a good system and I think everyone will find their level pretty fast.
S2 and S3 were both yellow. As well as that all numbers were white on the back so you couldn't tell from behind what cat the rider was in (unless it was a girl)...
I'm going to go out on a wild limb here and say that if you are catching somebody and about to pass them , who cares what category they are in !!
And if they are catching you and overtaking you, you're fcuked anyway !!
You should know who your rivals are anyway and if you are racing for a podium then you should be ashamed of yourself if you don't !!

Jaysus, a bit of colour coding is all lads.......it doesn't cost any extra and means I don't burst a gut trying to catch someone who's not even in my cat like I did yesterday....that's all....no biggie...
Was thinking the same thing as Hennessy,each cat should have a different colour number plate.Thats the way it been before.
