Thanks, is there any other ways? I want to head towards tibradden and would like to link it up without going to fairycaste, have a route in my head and just need that link.
don't mind them..go left around to 2 rock by the fence then back right on to Fairy Castle and down the WW from there..
the only way to traverse 3 Rock..and avoiding Fairy Castle is madness !
And Tibradden while deadly is a contentious trail with the walking community.
I'm all for using it but with discretion and respect the other users the way they should
respect us.
Yeah Richie, I always feel a bit dodge going round that way. It was grand at night over the winter cause there'd be no-one walking, and those massive rock step things out the far side are very interesting when you can't see them.
Just wondering if anyone can give me a link up onto the wicklow way from 3 rock without going down the fire road towards Kilmashogue?

The most obvious answer is to come up the fire road from Kilmashogue.
It's thebest warm up for a climb up to the Fairy Castle, if you can't climb to the Fairy Castle you probably won't make Tibradden, and you might as well walk the bike up to the Fairy Castle as up Tibradden.
If you want to learn routes and trails you should join a mtb club,
I hear those lads in EPIC know one or two trails around the Dublin mountains.

So I tried to find the way up onto Fairy Castle and failed. I went up that new trail by Mountain Meitheal, went left and that brought me to the new trail, so not wanting to damage the new trail I turned around and went the Kilmashogue way. Can someone give me child like directions from the end of the climb up onto 3 rock, the end of the tarmac road. Thanks!
