Pat mcQuaid is a good man. He used to do MTB SPins and the SMBLA Club races in the leadmines back in 1992 with me. Hes not the dinosaur you might think he is and while I haven't spoken to him in a few years..He is interested in Irish Cycling, the old Cycling Ireland Board is the problem. WHat he says makes a lot of sense and I had a very similiar conversation with him about 2 years ago.
He is the President of the UCI. No mean feat.
Remember that its primarily the Road.
Whats wrong here is that the board of C! is very weak..
But next time the Presidents job comes up, I'm going forward for it.
I promise Road,BMX, CX,XC and DH will all get a fair crack of the whip. Mickys dead right..
With thousands out of work and acres of land left Idle around Dublin it would have been so simple to build a BMX track to World standards in no time.
Now i can barely ride a BMX but every time I look at it , I just think its amazing. And it is definitely the perfect entry to other Cycling disciplines !! Like Pat says...
Hes a good man to have on your side !!
But hes Global now rather than local !!
But if I see him in the near future I'll press the case !!
