Trails near Leixlip?

Hi everybody, I'll be moving to Dublin for a job in Leixlip and I was wondering if there are any trails within cycling distance (5\10 miles) for weekday spins after work. Nothing too epic but not paved paths either. Or should I look for a different area to live in in Dublin? :)

there is a canal, not much else, but your only about 8-10 miles from the hills

Carton house has some nice firewood through the golf course, not single track but better than the road. You can link carton to st. Catherine pk via the canal getting off the canal at confey. Some short sections of single beside the river. Watch out for walkers, they get easily frightened by bike here for some reason

same as other places unfortunately, they start grabbing their kids and move to the side like the Huns are coming :)

Don't mind us, the Park Ranger/Warden/Garda/person of very important authority is a bit overzealous on use of bikes. Stay away from the walkers trail running at the top of the forrest parallel to the river. If your caught there you will be locked up for longer than Mandella ! He's armed with a biro and notebook too.

Donadea Forest Park's not too far from Leixlip.
