Some great reports there from the riders.... great to get an insight into what people think... love them or hate them courses like that really do promote racing.... On one level they can seem a bit boring but on another level they can be the most technical courses you can ride. If you read JP's report he mentions getting things wrong and losing 5 seconds in a corner.... on some big muddy mountain loop 5 seconds would be nothing but on a course like last Sunday it's make or break time...
Love or hate that course.....what is wrong with people. The venue got a slaggin before the race, talk of CX bikes etc. It was fantastic.
I got a real buzz riding around with Robin for the race, we had a bit of craic too, every corner was amazing, bike sliding almost everywhere, on the grass too. I would lose about 1/2 a meter to bob on every corner, and a 2 stroke sprint to get back on, took its toll, then I made a mistake and Bob turboed away.
I got my biggest kick of the day seeing the rest of the S1s crossing the line.....in 2s and 3s. From 5th -> 17th was 4 mins or something.......WOW! Ireland has NEVER had a race like this.....NEVER....new cats and great course.
