I have to drop the missus & kids to Killiney at 11am tomorrow and have 4 hours to kill. I'm back into the biking last few months and have had a few ventures around Donadea, Blessington lake and Glending. I'm not too bothered about the climbs but still getting to grips with descents so I'm not the fastest and don't want to hold people up which brings me onto my question........
Which trail would be best suited at peak time for my first spin on an official trail????
Ballinastoe is way way better, at least its a loop. Theres more of a challenge..
I was on Ticknock tonight with the kids..
theres a parralel trail in the dirt running along the Coillte trail.
They are even avoiding the berms.
And one more thing..
There are some gigantic f ucking arseholes out there that came ripping along behind me and one of the tiny kids tonight..
He was about to say something and I gave him The Look. If he'd opened his gob he'd have got a dig he wouldn;t have forgotten !
Another one came along and skidded to a stop behind me making a big fuss.
Thats uncalled for anywhere.

He had a bottle of water tucked in to the back of his shorts..his lycra shorts..Sophie was horrified. He was also wearing a camelbak.
Some amount of people up there with full armour on XC bikes !!
The only people who spoke to me were walkers and they were all praise. I fookin hate arsehole mtbers. I really do..
Mainly because if they don't know who I am, they are always sh1t !!

I had a great spin up there today. There's was loads out. Met Terry and his band of merry men.
It's always good to meet fellow epicurians and a few of the Mad'sers. They'll always share a hello or a bit of banter but there's some bunch of unfriendly half baked ******s up there these days.
The Devil on my left shoulder sometimes hopes the phantom rock dropper will start thinning the heard a bit. The angel on my right shoulder says "keep smiling and saying hello no matter how many times you get blanked by these fools"
We need a new term of derision for this new breed of talent less unfriendly MTB'er.

I seen the best one ever on Sunday...I was driving from Roundwood heading for Killmac when I seen this fella driving his car towards ballinastoe with his bike on the back...guess what he was wearing...the thick was wearing his full face helmet as he was driving, what a knob haha they are out there haha...
