Hello , we are running a social spin on 5th October in Ballinastoe. While its for members, potential members are welcome. However, bear in mind that some level of experience is required, total beginners can't be accomadated.
Which means that you must have at least a decent bike.
and a helmet
Fullfinger gloves.
The correct Clothing, not jeans or combats or anything remotely Cotton.
Correct Cycling shoes and pedals. Not runners with Clips and straps.
That means either SPDs or proper Flats with decent shoes.
An actual Downhill bike will be too much bike.
Everybody must have at least 2 tubes, a pump and a multitool
2 bottles or a Camelback
know how to replace a tube, fix a chain or have a servant with them to do it.
Food for the day, I don't care what you might think that is.
I would also recommend you wear some kind of eyewear
Bring your own personal first aid kit
A Cycling Rain Jacket ( not an EOIN Keith Bivouac Shelter type)
Don't borrow a bike from Ross.
now as usual fire away with the usual questions..and unless you are a beast of an Under 14 year old, you can't come, you will have your own day..
Richie
To hell with the shoes we should get a couple of those Jennies with the wheels. There is no crack to be had trying to carry one of those yokes up a mountain.
Hi Richie Looking forward to Sunday the 5th.I was at the Blast on Sunday Fantastic it was sheer class on the clubs part.I see you have an outing in Djouce this Sunday. Can anyone join in this outing?I have a friends wedding on Sat (cant be happy all your life)going to go easy on the juice so as hopefully to make it on Sun.If not I WILL make it for Sun 5th.I will bring enough Fig Rolls for everyone.
Remember Folks if you are coming along that we are looking for members who are interested in pushing the sport forwards.
Mountainbiking is not an alternative to Yoga or Pilates or Squash..it is the source, Man.
Sound great - I'll be along - will there be a "gear inspection"......SIR? Fix a chain ....hmm?? How long do you plan to out for? I can always slink off quitely if I can't keep up!
you should be able to keep up on Sunday 5th and the one thing that fcuks up a spin when you aren't familiar with the riders is mechanicals and the wrong equipment.
Richie
